Contractor- Your average wage as a Pilates instructor employed in a fully equipped Pilates studio would be around $30-$35 per hour, although a fully qualified pilates instructor with a Diploma has the potential to make between $45-$60 per hour. Your average wage as a Pilates Mat work instructor would be around $50-$75 per hour. Your average wage as a Pilates Reformer instructor would be around $45-$60 per hour. This rate can continue to grow as the Pilates instructor gains more experience and develops a client base and reputation.

Employee- You might be employed as casual, part time or full time across various settings across the fully equipped studio including mat work classes, reformer classes and clinical Pilates studio sessions.

A career as a professional pilates instructor involves teaching and instructing clients. Sometimes in a group setting on mats using small props/apparatus with between 5-15 people, on Reformers in a group setting with between 6-10 people and sometimes in small groups of clients 1-4 in the fully equipped Pilates studio incorporating the use of Pilates Cadillac, Pilates Ladder/High Barrels, Pilates Spine Corrector, Pilates Ped-A-Pul, Pilates Guillotine, Pilates High Backed Chair, Pilates Arm Chair, Pilates Foot Corrector, Pilates Toe Corrector, Pilates Neck-er-sizer, Pilates Wunda Chair and Pilates Reformer. You will need to have an interest in the human body.
